Summary: Works as intended
Comment: So far so good. Easy to disassemble for cleaning. Rubberized bottom makes for stable feel on my counter top. All in all it's fun trying out French press coffee, it was cheap too which doesn't hurt.

Comment: i have used this 4-5 days a week (occassionaly twice a day) for well over a year. never had a single problem and it works like a charm! plunger disassembles easily for cleaning, cant think of a single negative thing to say. buy this!

Summary: Beaker breaks very easily

Of course the glass beaker will break if you drop it or hit it with something, but after having owned it for only a month, my beaker cracked while I was pouring hot water into it, when I wasn't even touching it.
The beaker of a french press that cracks from having hot water poured into it is problematic.
I'm buying a new french press, but it certainly won't be a Bodum.

Summary: We're back to the press
Comment: We've had the Bodum Young 34 ounce coffee press for about a month (after being without one for about a year) and find it really serviceable. It makes just about enough coffee for the two of us and the carafe holder keeps it warm for a sufficient amount of time. I also feel like the sleeve protects the glass carafe since that is always the weak link in the whole system. It took us a few attempts to get the right amount of coffee grounds to use to get our desired strength of coffee, but once we figured that out it's been great.

The Young Press was designed by the Bodum Design Group to develop a modern yet functional coffee press that delivers top quality coffee and can be used in a variety of environments. The durable frame is made of santoprene material and the windows are made of clear polycarbonate. These 2 layers form a protective skin around the glass beaker that helps prevent breakage. The glass beaker can easily be removed for cleaning and placement in the dishwasher. The Young Press' frame also assists in keeping the coffee hot longer while insuring that the body of the press remains cool to the touch and is safe to set on most surfaces.
